We’re excited to announce that the Community Action team has published a new listening report. The Tulse Hill Voices listening campaign focuses on small social housing estates across the Tulse Hill area that are often overlooked as they are surrounded by much larger estates and street properties. The goal of this report is to bring together the views of seldom-heard residents, amplify their voices, and provide them with a powerful tool to organise and push for positive change.
To ensure we captured a wide range of insights, the Community Action team conducted three rounds of door-knocking, visiting all 333 doors across different areas at various times of the day. Through these efforts, we engaged with 131 individuals living on the estates, listening to their experiences and concerns.
The headline findings
Most people said they love where they live. They have good relationships with their neighbours and appreciate the peacefulness of the area, its green spaces, and fantastic transport links.
However, some significant issues were also raised. Many residents voiced concerns about safety, noise and anti-social behaviour, structural issues and disrepair of their properties, problems with communal spaces, and poor landlord service when reporting problems.
