This summer we were thrilled to offer paid work experience at Tulse Hill Adventure Playground to several young people aged 16 and over. This exciting opportunity was made possible through our Young Tulse Hill partnership with St. Matthew’s Project, who also provided paid work experience for young people wanting to help run their summer football programs.
During their time working at Tulse Hill Adventure Playground, young people had the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in youth and play work by supporting our exciting summer programme. It was incredible to watch them grow in confidence and by the end of the programme they were running their own group activities, such as cooking sessions and dodgeball.
The participants shared that the programme appealed to them because they loved working with children, wanted to gain work experience, and were eager to give back to their community. When asked about their favourite moments, they highlighted ‘cooking and making the snacks’ and ‘leading activities like musical chairs’.
