Last term, a group of 10 learners came together to create a beautiful collaborative mosaic, with the aim of making a piece of art to feature at the Tulse Hill Adventure Playground.
During this intensive 6-week course, the learners embarked together on a creative journey. They chose the theme ‘Protecting our Earth’, wanting to inspire children and young people attending High Trees’ youth and play sessions. Week by week, they learnt how to create handmade ceramic mosaics, combining their individual pieces into one collective artwork.
Learners loved working together and having this opportunity to create a long-lasting piece of art for the community. Their mosaic was unveiled during a celebratory event at the Adventure Playground.
“Attending the course boosted my confidence and increased my creative skills, it also boosted by mood and wellbeing through having weekly contact with a group of nice people who had a shared interest in creating.”
