In March we had our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Spring Wellbeing event. This was an exciting opportunity for 20 learners on our ESOL courses to come together and learn about health and wellbeing activities on offer in Lambeth.
In addition to a spring celebration with food and games, learners were encouraged to share their feedback on activities and courses they would be interested in studying at High Trees in the future. These could be activities that would support their wellbeing or courses that they could take to gain new skills. Learners voted on a variety of wellbeing activities (with the option to choose a maximum of 3), the most popular activities were: trips and learning about free things to do in London, gardening/growing vegetables and sewing. We look forward to using their suggestions to help us plan our curriculum for next year!
It was a lovely day of celebration, with learners coming together at the end to sing ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by the Beatles, followed by lunch and refreshments.
